The welfare group takes care of the needs of the people in the church. We have interpreted this to mean both spiritual and material needs of the people.

Please contact us for any kind of information ranging from questions about what the church can do for you or if you would also like to be a contributor yourself.

It is our culture to fellowship with one another with our gifts and resources. If anyone has any need that can be easily met by other church members, don’t hesitate to inform us so that we can mediate or give a hand on behalf of the church. This is our service to God, which pleases Him.

Deuteronomy 15: 7-117If there is among you anyone in need, a member of your community in any of your towns within the land that the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted toward your needy neighbour. 8 You should rather open your hand, willingly lending enough to meet the need, whatever it may be. 9Be careful that you do not entertain a mean thought, thinking, “The seventh year, the year of remission, is near,” and therefore view your needy neighbour with hostility and give nothing; your neighbour might cry to the Lord against you, and you would incur guilt. 10Give liberally and be ungrudging when you do so, for on this account the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. 11Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, “Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbour in your land.”

We as welfare members are inspired by the above scripture and know that we are all God’s children hence one family.  As family members  we care for each other  through prayers, encouragement and physical support ( financial and emotional).  The church is blessed with highly resourceful members in various disciplines who could provide  support for professional or  educational related issues. This ministry seeks to ensure that Mount Zion members do not feel lonely in whatever situation they find themselves (happy times or trying times). Acts 20:35: “ In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’.
